Worth every penny.

My first Gyuto style knife as I finally decided to take the plunge and move past Wüstoff & Henkels knives. My first impression was that the knife was beautifully crafted. The knife I chose was a balance of rustic & contemporary asthetically. The knife's edge was like a razor blade compared to my beloved German knives. Although I always had decent knife skills, I always had difficulty trying to peel a cucumber like a roll of paper (aka Naruto style sushi). The second I opened the box, that was the first thing I tried and it was just silly. The cucumber seemed as if it was just peeling itself afraid that knife would be coming for it. I'm not even joking. It was that effortless. I peeled and entire cucumber, paper thin, in one piece, all the way to the core. The cucumber was nearly down to my knees. My only concern is that the knife's edge is so razor sharp that I'm scared to chip it so I will be very careful on what I choose to use it for.
Highly recommend the knife and Nigara for their quality product. It's made me a better chef, thank you!
As far a the Burffection store is concerned, I was very happy as well. Very strong communication every step of the way. I was a bit concerned when I saw that the box was being shipped from Hong Kong, because like why? If these are Japanese knives and Burffection is based on California, what does Hong Kong have to do with any of this?
That being said, everything I received and the service was excellent so I'm happy either way. (Although it would be great to explain).
I would definitely order again.
Thank you.
