Suehiro "Gokumyo" GMN200 Finishing Whetstone #20000

$305.00

The Suehiro "Gokumyo" series super finishing whetstones are some of the smoothest whetstones you can find on the market. These high density ultra-fine fire-baked ceramic whetstones give the blades a very smooth, sharp edge, pushing the limit of what synthetic stones can give. Comes with a durable plastic whetstone rack and a whetstone surface restorer.

Made in Japan

Spec:

  • Origin: Niigata, Japan
  • Grit No.: Grit #20000

    • Gokumyo Whetstone
    • Plastic Whetstone Rack
    • Whetstone Surface Restorer "Dual Cleaner"
  • Whetstone Size 205×73×21mm (8.1 x 2.9 x 0.8")
  • Product Size 312×108×45mm (12.2 x 4.3 x 1.8")
  • Weight: 705g (24.87oz)
  • Material: Ultra-fine abrasives

How to use:

This well-made whetstone has a dense concentration of ultra-fine air pockets and can be used immediately by lightly wetting it. Before using the whetstone, either briefly submerge it in water, or wet the surface with your hand, then begin sharpening. Under normal circumstances (summer or winter temperature variations, immersion in water), there is no risk of a loss of quality. It can be used in the same manner as conventional (kiln-fired) whetstones.

How to clean:

To maintain the stone’s ability to sharpen, please clean the whetstone with water and restore the surface with the restoration tool included in the set after each use.

Great product, delivered on time

The similar products I have are the Shapon pro 12000 and glass 16000. So those will be my references. The Suehiro stone free softer compared with the Shaptin one, not as slippery. So it has better feeling to me. But the results were almost the same. I used them with nakiri, yanagiba, and some sujihiki knives.
