Good knive but one flaw

First of all, I bought the knife after seeing the video about it, as most people probably did. It was delivered today; the shipping was good, and it was well packaged. The knife looks like in the pictures and feels good in the hand, at least for me. It had a light oil coating that I appreciate. The fit and finish is good in my opinion, and it was shaving sharp (it could be sharper, but it's better than most knives I've had out of the box; however, the Shiro Kamo was better).

Now, regarding the flaw—at least on my knife—there is a step in the edge. If you rock it, there is about 0,4mm too much material. I will try to show this in two pictures since i cant upload videos for some reason. However, I can't speak for all knives; I think it's probably a defect from grinding that only mine has. I won’t be sending it back for a return because it’s something I should be able to fix with a whetstone.

New friend in the kitchen

Love the knife. Light, sharp , nimble and easy to keep the rust at bay. Forthright primitive but exactly as described so its honesty makes for a great tool. I reach for it first now. I own a lot of knives but this is my first Bunka. I am almost eighty and have spent many years in kitchens using tools with edges and love new surprises waiting for me. My only complaint is the scratches from the sharpening. I have been working on it so it should be fixed soon. I like the process so it just makes the knife "more mine".
Great price! I appreciate the heads up Burrfection.

EXCELLENT KNIFE FOR THE PRICE!

I bought the Naru “Hatsukou Series” Aogami #2 Kurouchi 165mm Bunka based on reviews of other buyers and I admit the knife is an amazing piece of art. Extremely sharp and functional in the kitchen even for a home chef. Above all I am buying a hand made forged knife by a Japanese bladesman who transferred the knowledge of generations delivered at your home for less money than a factory made is worthy.

Exactly as Described

Perfectly and honestly described in video review and on website. Very sharp (easily passed the paper cutting test) out of the box. I am quite sure, given its Rockwell harness rating that it can be even sharper after seeing some finer grit sharpening. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I haven't used it too much yet and have not yet needed to sharpen it. I guess that it will jump to 5 stars with further use and after future sharpening. For those who purchase in the future, don't be alarmed by the fact that it is shipped from Hong Kong. It is NOT some cheap Chinese knife. Shipping via DSL (the gold standard in international shipping) was amazingly good. I received knife in Chico, CA knife 4 days after ordering (!!-I've dealt w/DSL in the past and they are excellent). I can hardly wait to use this knife more, sharpen it, etc. I already think it will become my go to knife. At $100 it is an incredible value.

Great value and very capable

This knife is extremely sharp and handles well. I first used it to prepare a ribeye for grilling and then used it to cut it up for plating. It glided through everything with little to no effort.
