Imanishi

Imanishi White Finishing Whetstone #10,000

$79.95

Finding a true Japanese 10K grit whetstone under $100 was impossible. Ryky has tested at least dozens of Japanese whetstones at and above 10K grit, but not a single one of them was anywhere close to $100. When Ryky discovered the Imanishi 10K whetstone, he was skeptical, but after seeing the quality of the finish it leaves, and the overall quality, he felt that this stone is worth being recommended to customers of Burrfection Store. If you are looking for something higher than the typical 6K finish, and do not want to spend the $200+ that most 10K grit whetstones start at, this stone offers the best overall quality at this price range.

Made in Japan

Spec:

  • Origin: Kyoto, Japan
  • Grit No.: #10,000 WA
  • Type: Splash & Go
  • Dimension: 205 x 76 x 26mm (8.2 x 3.0 x 1.0")
  • Weight: 770g (27.2oz)

How to use:

Do not soak this whetstone. Simply apply water on the surface when ready to use. Rinse and wipe dry with a hand towel when done, and allow air dry at room temp. Do not leave in water.

How to clean:

If the stone’s performance is slowing down, or seems to be diminishing, you can clean using a rust eraser, nagura stone, dressing stone, or a flattening plate. Be sure to clean the entire surface of the whetstone when using any of these methods to ensure even wear of the whetstone’s surface.

Amazing stone

I actually did not buy my Imanishi from Burrfection. I got mine years ago from another site and gave it to a friend after a break from knives, cooking professionally and sharpening. After coming across Burrfection recently and wanting to order a couple niche items you carry I found myself checking out what your whetstone offerings were; seeing the good ole Imanishi pop up! I had such wonderful experiences with this stone. I remember it being soft but firm with great feedback. Cutting quicker than an 8k Naniwa I also had at the time. And the mirror finish was just incredible for such a cost effective (or any) stone. Truly my favorite ultra fine grit stone I have personally used to date. Cheers and blessings.
