Burrfection
Leather Strop with New Carbon Fiber Base
Pickup currently unavailable
"As a cyclist, carbon fiber has a special place in my heart. After refining the manufacturing and finishing process, and without having to increase the price over the original design, I am very excited to offer this new version to our customers. This latest version offers a number of upgrades, from custom CNC chamfered edges and corners, to a new carbon layup design. The CNC edges and corners make for an extremely clean and comfortable to hold finish. The upgrade from a UD (unidirectional carbon) to 3k weave pattern increases structural strength (not that the UD version needed it). And with each layer using the same material, these are 100% carbon fiber in construction."

Rolled Buffalo Premium
The Best all-around leather for stropping. Period.
Rolled Buffalo strops are Burrfection's best selling strops. After testing dozens of types of leather, this particular grade of leather has proven to be suited for practically every type of knife steel. The leather is extremely resilient, and does not warp, and very dense, due to how it was finished. Can be loaded with any compound, or used bare.
- Premium grade leather for stropping your knives and razors to their absolute sharpest.
- Perfect strop for beginners or pro knife sharpeners.
- Suited for practically every steel type
- Ideal for loading with 5K-14K grit compound or use naked (without loading)
- Extremely resilient, flat - Perfect for stropping knives with micro-bevels
- 2 Size Choices: 10 inch (10" x 2.5") or 12 inch (12" x 3")
Buffalo hide strops are extremely glossy, and robust. They can be used with or without stropping compound, and will give your knives and razors an amazing edge. Buffalo hide is naturally oily, and glossy.
Raw Equine Premium
For those who love stropping, but do not want to bother using any stropping compound, raw equine offers the best of both worlds. It contains a high concentration of silicate like the premium equine, and is dense, similar to rolled buffalo. However, it is low concentration of oils, which makes the surface less slippery, and offers lots of control during stropping.
The high silicate concentration makes it very usable without any stopping compound. But for those who want to load with stropping compound, we have found it takes 5-6K grit compound extremely well. It’s currently heavily used by Ryky in his latest sharpening kit.
- Raw Equine leather contains a high concentration of silicate like the premium equine, and is dense, similar to rolled buffalo.

- Offers lots of control during stropping

In general everything I get from Burrfection is high performance. The stop is A-1
You are paying for a beautiful strop and that is exactly what you get. It's not only beautiful but functional.
I just got it a few minutes ago but I had to post a review. First off, the packaging is impeccable if you care about things like that (I usually don't, but it's so thoughtful that it stood out)!
Ok, it's a strop. Strops are very simple things that are nice to have, but aren't even necessary. You can make a strop easily, quickly, and inexpensively (that's what I've always done). You can strop on a stone, you can strop on fabric, you can strop on a belt if that's all you have.
So why did I spend $80 on this thing?
I first found this strop while I was researching stones a couple of years ago. They were sold out, and I told myself that if they ever came back in stock I would buy one because I had never even heard of a carbon fiber strop before. Well, I now have a baby, and my soaking stones just no longer fit my lifestyle so I was on the site looking at splash-n-go's. I made the mistake of clicking on the strops menu and these were back in stock. I bought one before I really knew what was happening.
It came today and this is the most ridiculous thing I now own. If you didn't get one before they sold out (which they're gonna), it's no good, don't worry about it, you're not missing out on anything, stop reading this review here!
If you did get one, then you already know! Those poor, poor saps who missed out! This strop is complete overkill, no one needs a strop this nice, and I'm head over heels in love with it! Well done Ryky, well done!
