ATS-34 Steel is Hitachi Steel's version of 154CM. An ingot alloy, ATS-34 targets middle to higher-end knife segment. With 14% chromium it is quite corrosion resistance. The steel can be treated to a hardness of 60-61, offering adequate edge retention, but the alloys shows more toughness properties and is therefore better suited for heavier duty kitchen works.
