I truly like using this slicer and man, is it S.H.A.R.P! Anyone who purchases this beware:

I was looking for a new mandoline slicer that can be used daily for work (Chef), but it is inexpensive. I found a perfect one! The item came in such a cute box and has descriptions and instructions for the item. Also made in Japan which is great because I believe in Japanese craftmanship in any kitchen gadgets!

The item itself is a super high quality yet simple, and the blades are pretty sharp that I can tell! The thickness adjustment is easy to do and very simple to switchblades for different uses, 5-star period

Very good for a limited number of jobs - 3 stars

This product is excellent for shredding jobs where the 3 mm thickness is not an issue. I was unaware that one could not make slices thicker than 3 mm, so this limits the mandoline's usefullness. The big problem with the unit is the difficulty in going from 0 to 3 with the thickness control wheel. I have strong hands and have difficulty turning the wheel. My wife finds this impossible.
