Burrfection
Leather Strop with Polycarbonate Base

This is the standard strop base that we recommend, due to its extreme durability, light weight and aesthetic properties. Made of high quality polycarbonate glass sheet. These bases are highly transparent and highly resistant to impact. They are many times stronger than glass or HDPE, and almost unbreakable. It's also much lighter than tempered glass.

Raw Equine Premium
For those who love stropping, but do not want to bother using any stropping compound, raw equine offers the best of both worlds. It contains a high concentration of silicate like the premium equine, and is dense, similar to rolled buffalo. However, it is low concentration of oils, which makes the surface less slippery, and offers lots of control during stropping.
The high silicate concentration makes it very usable without any stopping compound. But for those who want to load with stropping compound, we have found it takes 5-6K grit compound extremely well. It’s currently heavily used by Ryky in his latest sharpening kit.

Ahh, magical. My routine is somewhat different than Ryky for residential use with kitchen western knives........Arkansas, medium grit, fine, black
surgical with mineral oil, steel, and then the finality......buffalo strop. The term "razor sharp" is commonly misused but with the final step with the
buffalo strop you have arrived at that magical edge..........thanks to Ryky and Kevin for the tutorials........no BS, just the facts and clean up on the stone with the eraser.
