About Naniwa Whetstone Holder
After years of buying and testing dozens of whetstone holders on the market, this is one Ryky’s favorite. It’s one of the only holders that uses truly stainless hardware, and rails. It also has one of the widest footprint of all whetstone holders, which makes it one of the most stable to use.
It will hold all but the largest whestones available. Whetstones that are larger than what this holder can handle, generally will come with their own bases, or are specialty stones that require a much different holder solution.

Super nice sharpening kit, produces very consistent results even across basic knives. If I was buying again, I'd get the kit without the plastic tub, but just because I use the bridge over the kitchen sink every time, so for me it's just become a storage box. Also thanks to Riki for his excellent Youtube tutorials, even the best stones would be of limited use without some guidance on how to use them properly.
For me sharpening knives has actually become almost a form of therapeutic meditation, I find it very relaxing and it's very satisfying to turn a dull, chipped knife into a finely honed edge. If your knives (of your friends) are in really poor shape I'd consider an additional course stone for reforming edges on chipped blades as the 800 grit would be a bit slow for removing any serious quantity of material.
Very nice set of tools, highly recommended.
For me and my expectations of " sharp" it enables me to do so. Sharpness is subjective, that being said, this kit delivers the ability to achieve it at home or in pro kitchen. In a word: handy!
Very happy with purchase. Only complaint is the screws on the sink bridge sometimes get stuck otherwise very happy with everything great value for the price
Waited to long to buy this kit. Stones are amazing. Awesome response and results
It is a prefect set for beginners. The shipping is quick and they pack the set carefully. I will say the 800 stone is ideal for kitchen knives but a little bit gentle for pocket knives. I will purchase another 400 stone to complete my knife sharpening set.
